About Me
Who do you think you are?
I think I’m a 26-year-old hottie, living the fun single-girl life in various cities and occasionally stopping by the tattoo shop for a new earring or some fresh ink.
That’s who you are?
No, that’s who I was ten years ago. But sometimes I like to think I’m still like that.
Well, who are you really?
A 30-something wife and mother with a job, a house, a fat cat, chronic dry eyes, and a blog.
Your husband sounds like a Great Guy. Tell us more about him!
Oh, he is so Great. He really is. But he isn’t the internet exhibitionist that I am so I’ll just leave the descriptives at “Great”.
Is it true that he once introduced you to George Clooney?
Yep!
How did that happen?
We got invited to a fundraiser for George Clooney’s dad Nick when he ran for Congress in 2004. George was there and wound up standing at the bar next to my then-boyfriend-now-husband and they struck up a conversation. I spotted them and ran like a banshee sauntered casually over. My now-husband said “George, this is Rebekah”. I babbled something to him about Italy and George (I call him George) responded pleasantly, like I was a totally normal person and not a raving lunatic at all.
So you live in the DC area. You must have some very strong feelings about politics.
I do! Lots of them. I keep them in a box under my bed along with my views on religion, other (non-celebrity) people’s parenting choices and other things that turn conversations from “polite” to “combative”.
Now I know what you don’t write about. What do you write about?
My son. Commuting. Trashy tv. Books. Fun stuff we do on weekends. Things other bloggers write that make me think. Charities that I think are great. Whatever else crosses my mind.
Why did you start blogging?
Two reasons. 1) It’s more fun to share my thoughts with other people than it is to keep them bottled up inside until they explode and I end up ranting incoherently at some poor tourist who had the misfortune to stop and look at his map at the top of a metro escalator that I’m trying to exit. And 2) I would love to make a career for myself as a writer and it seems like writing is the best first step.
How can I get in contact with you?
My email is mom_in_a_million@me.com. You can also leave me comments. I try to respond to all of them with a note, a tweet, or a visit to your blog.
You Tweet?
I do! My Twitter handle is MomIn_AMillion. You can also follow me using Google Friend Connect and be my fan on Facebook or follow me using RSS. There are all kinds of pretty buttons to link you up to all of that in the right hand columns on the blog.
Is there anything else I should know?
Don’t eat yellow snow. That’s very important information that everyone should know.

I really enjoy your blog. I am also a working mother with a 2 yr old. And the new layout looks great!
